From recent mail from Marc dated 9/13/00:
Well, it looks like we have slowed down pretty much across the board, not by a
lot, but more than noise.
Any ideas on what might have changed in the last week to slow down pretty much
everything?

ps. Bindu, is it possible for you to run the numbers again using the same exact
build bits? I'd be interested to see the average of two runs...

Previous URL seems to hang on till the next is loaded in background very often
now - never was like that before. slashdot is a good example of new behaviour.
The previous nightly didn't behave that way.
Now using Linux 2000-091408 where this bug is visible.
Linux 2000-091312 was NOT like that, it loaded the site right away and one could
read page/watch it load.
I'm also seeing the problem on Win2K. If you use viewer to walk the top 100,
you'll see pages that never render until you invalidate the window.
hmm in 2000091506 it's quicker again. Can this have been caused by one of the
missing convertions of progid's? (There was a second round of checkins between
2000091408 and 2000091506)
Over to buster, who's better tuned to the changes in layout.

You meant no *perf* work, me thinks.

there are now many separate bugs concerning layout performance. This catch-all
is no longer useful.
