I am the only one that uses this computer. I had opened Firefox earlier to view email nothing was in the "Trash". Opening was successful. On return later I woke the computer and found ???? nest to trash. Upon opening trash I found it contained most of my inbox files. I attempted to use "move to Inbox to resolve the problem to no avail. I then opened the POP.onemain.com alias within the files and checked the Firefox trash folder. The contents were extensive (I had trashed this folder last evening to prevent files from reappearing [an older problem]). I did not want to loose the files so at that time I restarted the computer. Upon reestablishing Firefox I found that the problem had resolved itself. The only files in the "Trash" were those that I had placed there earlier this AM. Any guesses?
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Has happened once before not reported. Computer restart seems to resolve
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Returned to expected file contents

A theme is something you install and changes way Thunderbird looks.
An extension adds functionality to the product.
See addons.mozilla.org for what I'm talking about.
But I don't really understand what your issue is. It sounds like a support issue. If it is would you mind gong to http://www.getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging to ask for support.
If you think it's a bug then please rephrase your description.
