Reproducible: Didn't try
I have now reproduced this. It didn't seem to require anything special. The way I did this was by selecting the menu option with my mouse, then entering the title (without selecting the field first, since it's autoselected), then pressing enter without pressing tab first.
use the latest version please, and report if you can reproduce there.
OK, I updated to the latest 3.0. On 3.0.15, the popup disappeared after the second time I press enter when the "OK" button on the error is selected. Also, I had to highlight the name of the prospective bookmark folder myself; it was not highlighted automatically. I do not plan on updating to the 3.5 line for a while. I read that 3.0 is still supported. Is that true?
it will be supported till the end of the year, or sometimes around that date. But we strongly suggest to move to a newer version. Btw your failure looks spurious, in the sense that it can be caused by an add-on, by a broken profile, i doubt it's a Firefox bug, nobody ever reported anything similar.
Does this still happen with Firefox 3.6.13 or later or Firefox 4?
