Currently, the only UI in Firefox preferences to control browser.history_expire_days is when the "Remember my browsing history..." option is toggled (setting it to 0 when unchecked). Currently satchel will expire all entries when browsing history is unchecked even if "Remember search and form history" is checked. This is not apparent from the preferences UI and means that it's not actually possible to disable browsing history while keeping form history entries (without using about:config). This will only affect 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 as these browsing history expiry prefs will be removed in Firefox 3.7.
At this point I don't think we'd backport this fix to 3.6 since it's not security related.
