Although I order the newsgroup by date, I always have as most recent a post that it is not really recent. I will attach a screen shot to show it. I have unsubscribed and resubscribed to it with no success. Reproducible: Always
Yes but you also watch them by thread and thread are ordered on the date from the first message. This looks ok to me.

actually, the threads are ordered by the date of the newest message in the thread.
But... if you analyze the print screen, you will see that thread with subject "How to post photo to newsgroup" is wrong. It is not ordered correctly. As David said, the discussion threads are ordered by the date, so for example if anybody add a post to the oldest thread, when I get the messages that thread should be positioned automatically the first one. In this test case, it is always positioned in second place after that conflictive thread. Can you validate in your installation that mozilla.support.thunderbird newsgroup has as most recent the thread with subject "How to post photo to newsgroup" when that is not correct?

I unsubscribed and subscribe again. And when I set the order by date (View -> Sort by -> Date) I get again that "conflictive" (from my point of view) discussion thread which last post is from 30 Oct. I am able to reproduce all the times... :-(
That's because the original post is mis-dated and claims to be from the future (October 2011).
That's it! I missed the year, I was concentrated just in day and month. Thanks.
