Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
Build Identifier: Version 2.0.0.23 (20090812)
When reading an HTML e-mail in a standalone message window, pressing Ctrl+- has no effect and pressing Ctrl++ works the opposite way, i.e. decreases the text size, instead of increasing it. Ctrl+0 works normally. Terminating and restarting Thunderbird apparently cures the problem. Meaning that, after restarting Thunderbird, the shortcuts behave normally while reading. However, after sometime, the problem may come back for unknown reasons. Reading e-mails with certain HTML code may be causing this problem. No further data available at this time.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an HTML e-mail in a standalone message window.
2. Press the keyboard shortcuts for text size, i.e. Ctrl++ and Ctrl+-
Expected Results:
Ctrl++ should always increase the text size. Ctrl+- should always decrease the text size.
The menu commands for text size still work correctly. The bug applies only to the keyboard shortcuts. This has been there for at least several previous versions of Thunderbird.

anten42, this happens also in safe-mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
I am not sure. Will definitely check. It happens occasionally (as was the case with previous versions of Thunderbird). Perhaps, Firefox and Thunderbird being open at the same time may have something to do with it. Let me spend some time and try to come up with a way to replicate, if possible.

I can't attach an e-mail for you to test because when I close and re-open Thunderbird the keyboard shortcuts start working just fine, even with a problem e-mail.
So far, I wasn't able to figure out a definitive way to reproduce it. I tried to reproduce in normal and safe modes but I simply can't. At the moment, the following is all I can tell:
(1) It happens once or twice a week. Closing and re-running Thunderbird corrects it until next time.
(2) When it happens, Firefox happens to be running in parallel.
