Barbara Hueppe from the Mozilla Europe marketing team translated the Firefox 3.5 Reviewer's Guide in May/June 2009. Can we reuse that translation for this file? I heard that Barbara is out of the office until December 5th. Is this a problem?

Hi Thomas. I am Irina Sandu and am replacing Barbara while she is away. We are working right now at translating the reviewer's guide for 3.6. Our PR agency has translated it and now is the time for QA. 
If you would like to help, please do read the translation and see if everything is all right.

Thanks Irina, I see that there is almost nothing we can reuse in the new Reviewer's Guide. So, my previous comment is obsolete.

I've read the translation and have some suggestions (I will do it in German):

Hallo Benedict, ich hab mir erlaubt, deine Übersetzung durchzulesen und hab einige Vorschläge meist nur "technischer Natur":

1) "Awesome Bar" übersetzen wir immer mit "intelligente Adressleiste" (z.B. http://www.mozilla-europe.org/de/firefox/features/#location-bar und https://support.mozilla.com/de/kb/Intelligente+Adressleiste). Ich weiß nicht, ob sich jeder unter Awesome Bar etwas vorstellen kann.

2) "Mit einem Klick können Sie zwischen" statt "Mit einem Klick kann man zwischen", um das unpersönliche "man" wegzubekommen. (Oder "Mit einem Klick kann zwischen tausenden verschiedenen Personas gewählt werden", um den Leser nicht direkt anzusprechen.)

3) "Sie können Firefox 3.5 unter www.getfirefox.com herunterladen." - gemeint ist hier sicher "Firefox 3.6".

4) "Wähle Dein Persona!" - ab hier wird im Artikel oft geduzt, vorher wurde aber nur gesiezt. Sollte das vereinheitlicht werden?

5) "bis hin zu Grafiken von Partnern wie Harry Potter, Bob Marley" - gibt es ein besseres Wort als "Partner"? Das ergibt beim Lesen nicht wirklich Sinn. (Harry Potter ist Partner von Mozilla, oder von mir?)

6) "Aus einer Galerie von über 30.000 Personas kann man das Aussehen des Browsers wechseln, so oft man möchte." ändern in Vorschlag mit Sie: "Aus einer Galerie von über 30.000 Personas können Sie das Aussehen des Browsers wechseln, so oft Sie möchten."

7) "Firefox 3.6 hilft Webentwicklern mit immer weiteren Werkzeugen und Funktionen, um den nächsten großen Durchbruch bei Webinhalten zu befördern." --> "Firefox 3.6 hilft Webentwicklern mit immer neuen Werkzeugen und Funktionen, um den nächsten großen Durchbruch bei Webinhalten zu ermöglichen." (was immer das heißen mag)

8) "TraceMonkey Javascript Engine" --> "TraceMonkey-Javascript-Engine", "Drag’n’Drop API" --> "Drag-and-Drop-API", "CSS Farbverläufe" --> "CSS-Farbverläufe", "der Support von Bewegungssensoren" --> "die Unterstützung von Bewegungssensoren"

9) "Firefox 3.6 liefert die weltweit beste Einbindung der HTML 5 Audio- und Video-Unterstützung Vorbis und Theora." --> "Firefox 3.6 liefert die weltweit beste Darstellung von HTML5-Audio- und Video-Daten (Vorbis und Theora)."  (HTML5 soll laut W3C zusammengeschrieben werden, nicht HTML 5.)

10) Ist es möglich, die personifizierte Anrede von Firefox neutraler zu gestalten? Oft ist von "dem Firefox" mit Artikel die Rede anstatt einfach nur von "Firefox" ohne Artikel. ("Der Firefox 3.6 macht dieses und jenes" usw. kommt oft vor.)

11) "CSS Farbverläufe(n)" --> "CSS-Farbverläufe(n)", "CSS Gradients" --> "CSS-Gradients"

12) "Filepicker" --> "Dateiauswahl-Dialog"

13) "Drag and Drop-API" --> entweder "Drag-and-Drop-API" oder das weiter oben vorkommende "Drag-and-Drop-API" in "Drag and Drop-API" umbenennen.

14) "cross-site" --> "Cross-Site"

Last correction:

-"Firefox 3.6 liefert die weltweit beste Darstellung von HTML-5-Audio- und Video-Unterstützung (Vorbis und Theora)."
+"Firefox 3.6 bietet die weltweit beste Umsetzung der Audio- und Video-Unterstützung von HTML5 (Vorbis und Theora)."

(So ist es doch besser; es geht ja nicht um die beste Darstellung, sondern um die beste Umsetzung der Implementierung. HTML5 muss man laut W3C ohne Bindestrich oder Leerzeichen schreiben.)
