Verified on system that for all other applications the ALT key is functional.

When running Firefox, using the ALT key no longer results in any system response. Depressing the ALT key will not activate the menu bar. Issue was discovered while attempting to back track viewing history by using ALT+left arrow.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Firefox
2. Attempt to return to previous page using ATL+left arrow.
3. Attempt to access menu bar using ALT as starting point.
Actual Results:
No response by Firefox to the ALT key input

Expected Results:
2. Firefox should display previously viewed page.
3. First entry in the menu bar should have become activated.

This works fine for me. Have you tried safe-mode / a new profile?

Tested using safe mode and was not able to reproduce. Subsequent executions of firefox did not exhibit previously observed behavior.

I have this problem which is critical since it blocks the ability to go to the previous page with the mouse (configured to alt-left on extra button)

firefox 3.5.6

it is not always tho, i can not understand why suddenly it apears

it sometimes disepeared by openning a google page (not any page) or starting ff in safe mode then returning to normal mode, but here again it does not always works. restarting firefox surly does not solve it anyway

i have 25 extensions, disabling them all does not solve it either

but the problem does not appears in safe mode
