530425 - clicking links from MSN Messenger spawns Firefox process but browser window not visible

When Firefox isn't already open, clicking on a link (sent to you in chat) spawns a Firefox process, but a visible browser window never appears. If the web page that should be visible contains audio, the audio can be heard playing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close all instances of Firefox
2. Receive link from friend in MSN Messenger, click on link
3. Notice Firefox window isn't visible except in processes list
Actual Results:  
Firefox window isn't visible, but audio can be heard (if web page contains audio) and Firefox appears in processes list.

Expected Results:  
Firefox window should be visible

Workaround: Manually open an instance of Firefox prior to clicking on received link in MSN Messenger.

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

You can also try to reproduce in Firefox 4 Beta 8 or later, there are many improvements in the new version, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
