FF does not open a second window. Toolbar icon, clicking link, clicking hot spot in e-nail, menu New--nothing works. This is true even when no window is open. I have to use Task Manager to shut down FF before I can open a window from Outlook. Closing FF does not shut it down.

Reproducible: Always
Disabling Adblock 1.1.1 restored the function.
Thanks.

There must be something wrong, Adblock Plus works without issues for me. (v1.1.1)
Resolution: FIXED → WORKSFORME
I received reports about Zone Alarm Toolbar (a.k.a. Ask Toolbar) extension causing such issues - not only in conjunction with Adblock Plus.
It is the combination of ZA toolbar and Adblock that does it. When ZA tool bar is disabled, Adblock causes no problem, and vice versa.
you are right wladimir, there are other reports about the ZA toolbar !
Sean, please forgive me but I still blame ZA toolbar, especially given that it is crapware (http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=759). But if somebody can send me the extension files for it I'll try to check what exactly it is doing that's causing all these issues.
Btw, according to forums this toolbar installs itself as z4ffxtbr.jar and z4ffxtbr.manifest in \Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome - so it isn't technically an extension, it circumvents the usual extension installation mechanism.

Never mind, I got it already - the current version actually installs correctly as an extension.
I filed bug 530747 on the Zone Alarm Toolbar.
