Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so
The program 'thunderbird-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 2407 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Happens on first start. The 2nd start works fine.

Does Ubuntu provide Thunderbird 3??? News to me!
No, I downloaded it from Mozilla directly using this link: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/about/press/archive/2009-11-24-01

It does in PPA <https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ppa>.
your issue is probably dues to the linker updating it's cache file on first launch and finding 64bits libs before the 32 bit ones.

I switched to different Mozilla builds and the problem went away.
