+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #529892 +++ In bug 529892, bug 531004 and others, we've discovered that there are some versions of enigmail that are reporting to be compatible with Thunderbird 3.0pre and 3.0 that are in fact not compatible, cause crashes and break sending of messages and saving of drafts/mail. Please can we therefore add enigmail to the blocklist as follows: Thunderbird versions 3.0pre, 3.0 and 3.0.* block enigmail on all platforms: enigmail id: "{847b3a00-7ab1-11d4-8f02-006008948af5}" enigmail maxVersion: 0.97a enigmail minVersion: (I think leave this blank, as any version below maxVersion is not going to work, and it saves working out if there are any other versions). We need this asap as 3.0 RC 1 is already out there and certainly before 3.0 is released.

Can you also update the blocklist web page at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/blocklist/ or do we need another bug for that?
Summary: Add enigmail to the block list for rc1 → Add enigmail to the block list for Thunderbird 3.0pre and above

Adding Jorge who might be the only one with "the power" who is not on holidays. Thanksgiving in Puerto Rico?

Although the extension author has published on amo an update to the extension, is anyone around who can still push this on the blocklist? I suspect this will still be an issue first time round for people upgrading from 2.x.

(In reply to comment #3) > [...] I suspect this will > still be an issue first time round for people upgrading from 2.x. I'm not sure that this is true. Any Enigmail versions ever published for 2.x have maxVersion == 2.0.0.*.

Pinging for some action on this please. We're not sure of the exact impact of this when we release (we suspect it will mainly affect users that have been nightly users of enigmail) but we are still seeing a reasonable amount of issues/crashes with the broken enigmail version, and therefore we'd feel a lot safer having this in place.

This is what the new blocklist.xml will look like. Once pushed, changes show up here: http://bit.ly/8913KU Filed bug 533517 for the push. Let me know if any of this looks wrong.
