User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4 Keyboard is Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v.2 The keyboard zoom keys don't work for this version of Firefox, but they work as expected in various other common browsers, including IE, Safari, and Chrome. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: No action Expected Results: Page image should zoom in/out.
Likely an Issue with Microsoft's IntellType software. I would look for an upgrade and/or take a look at http://coreygilmore.com/blog/2008/10/06/use-the-microsoft-keyboard-intellitype-zoom-button-to-scroll/. Resolved invalid
Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue?
Yes, there has been no observable change in behavior.
I have installed the latest intellipoint software, and have examined the suggestions in the other link. I still feel that the crucial observation is that this keyboard's Zoom keys ZOOM with the IE, Safari, Chrome, and Opera browsers, but they SCROLL with Firefox. There seems to be something singular in the way that Firefox- and Firefox alone- handles these keys.
I have exactly same problem as reported, so I confirm it: - keyboard: microsoft digital media keyboard 3000 - driver: microsoft intellitype pro (latest as of 2010-jan-21) ALL other applications (not just browsers like chrome, IE8.0, opera) handle the zoom keys properly except firefox, which scrolls the page instead of zooming, just like reported.
I have also checked, I do NOT have any scroll settings for zoom keys under the application "<Application UniqueName="MozillaUIWindowClass" AppName="Firefox">", so they are not supposed to scroll. It should work as all other applications...
Oh and I am using windows xp sp3 32bit and firefox 3.6 :>
Can you take a look at this FF forum post -> http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?locale=fi&comments_parentId=94337&forumId=1 Here was the solution they had: Go to c:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro\ open commands.xml with any text editor Paste the following lines in the DPGCmd/ALL section of the XML <Application UniqueName="MozillaUIWindowClass" AppName="Firefox"> <C319 Type="5" KeySeq="ctrl +" /> <C320 Type="5" KeySeq="ctrl -" /> </Application> Unfortunately I don't have one to test with

I think you are missing the point :-) Instead of hacking intellitype xml to send the codes FF understands, probably FF should be able to handle the codes the intellitype sends. Why ? Because all other applications are able to do so, without any change in the intellitype xml. I think it should be doable for FF as well. I can accept this suggestion as a workaround, but surely not as a solution.

Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest version of Firefox 6?
I am not able to confirm this issue at this point, because now I have access only to a different keyboard that lacks dedicated zoom keys. Anyone else have access to a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 v.2?
I've checked now with the same keyboard I had before (MS digital media keyboard 3000) which has dedicated zoom keys. It works now well with the latest Firefox 6, zoom is really zooming. I guess you waited long enough ! :-)
