User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b4) Gecko/20091124 Firefox/3.6b4

I customized my toolbar bookmarks by selecting customize in the right click menu and dragging the Toolbar bookmarks icon up to the menu bar. I save and then remove the original toolbar bookmarks icon from showing. The next time I open the browser, the toolbar bookmarks are gone from the menu bar and are not located on the original toolbar for bookmarks or in the customize box with available icons. In order to get it back I have to reset the available icon and then it shows on but on the original toolbar. So I have to move it back up to the menu bar again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Move Toolbar bookmarks to Menu Bar
2.Restart Firefox at any time
3.Bookmarks disappear from Menu Bar
Actual Results:
The information that is noted in details.

Expected Results:
Should not disappear and keep customized settings

Problem still exists in safe mode without addons.

This works fine for me. Maybe this helps: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Toolbar+keeps+resetting ?
Thanks for your help. I tried it but no luck.

Did you mean you removed the check mark before the "Bookmarks Toolbar" option in the View > Toolbars menu? If not can you explain what you meant?

Yes. If I could edit my post I would remove the word "icon".
Well, I have the same toolbar configuration since years and I don't have this problem. Even if I make the localstore.rdf read-only it does store the changes. So this is weird. Does it also happen with a new profile?

It wouldn't matter if you are not having the problem with a toolbar for many years. The reason why many beta testers are always needed because problems that occur may only happen to some.
The problem still occurs with a new profile.
Have you tried uninstalling the Paypal Plugin? Just had what may be a similar issue and I traced it down to that.
