Using TB 3.0 RC1, it appears as if the new Smart Folders feature does NOT remember the list of folders (inboxes) I wish to include in the "Inbox" smart folder. I have multiple accounts, only a subset of which I wish to include in the "Inbox" Smart Folder.
I can de-select the inbox/account(s) I don't want to see, and the unread count seems to update correctly, but there are two behaviors that I think are bugs:
1. The folder remains in the list (prob duplicate of bug:520392)
2. The list of folders 'selected' is not retained between launches of TBird.
It is the latter issue which I think is unique to this bug report, but both are annoying.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select Properties of the Inbox Smart Folder
2. De-select one of a multiple of Inbox accounts
3. Restart TBird - the deselected account will be 're-'selected automatically.

How do you achieve that ?

He just uses the property dialog to remove some of the inboxes from the scope. But the smart folder startup code makes sure all the inboxes are included in the scope, in case somehow an inbox got added that it didn't hear about. In other words, we have to add inboxes for new accounts to the smart inbox and that's how we do it.
I can confirm this behaviour. With this and the bug about them Smart Folders not showing the correct list of selected folders makes this feature really rusty. I'm surprised it's made the final release.

Yes, that is similar for at least a portion of the bug, and I
referenced it in the description; However, please also note issue 2 that I mentioned:
> 2. The list of folders 'selected' is not retained between launches of TBird.
That is, in my case where I'm talking about use of Smart Folders
specifically with respect to the Inbox Smart Folder, the
list of "selected" folders is not remebered or is overridden on next
startup of TB. I think that David in comment #2 probably has a good
handle on why the second unique issue is occuring.

I can confirm experiencing both problems.
