Does the issue still exist in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode I know Bug 527944 is related to blackboard but that is only during login so don't think that applies here. FWIW - works for me on 3.5.5 on XP
Works in Linux too. The problem is Mac specific. Ignore the second line on that netstat info. Is there a downloadable build with debugging enabled? The Mac is my wife's and I don't want to learn how to set up a build environment on Mac.
You just get a white page? If you view -> Page Source is there anything shown? Can you continue to browse other sites while this occurs (i.e. in another tab or window). Before going to the page go to Tools -> Error Console and select Clear. Load the page. Are there any errors shown in the Error console now?
It works for me on Mac OS X 10.6: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
mpapet -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest FF version?
(In reply to comment #6) > mpapet -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest FF version? Close the bug. Spending some time on the issue with a packet sniffer, I discovered the issue was at the TCP/IP stack. The OS has been upgraded and the problem went away. Tim (comment #4) View->Page Source was empty. Other tabs worked. Why blackboard's site and not every other site opened in another tab? No clue. I didn't dig at it long enough to find out.
Glad the issue has been resolved.
