Hi,
I wanted to suggest that extensions could be made to support alternate stylesheets (whose selection could perhaps be offered as an optional pull-down on dialog windows themselves or as an overlay to the main Firefox/Thunderbird/etc. window, with a menu list on the main menu subcategorized by Addon name and dialog (or overlay if it is part of the browser overlay).
Perhaps the chrome registry could itself detect alternate stylesheets by subfolder (as with localizations) so that there would be no need for manually adding alternate xml-stylesheet instructions.
I think this would work nicely with Bug 532315 (if there were a site that could allow designers to supply "themes" (images and CSS) for extension developers).
