In addition, every form sending data to non-ssl page, shows warning (even if it never before did), and keeps on showing it (even when you select you don't want to be notified anymore). When I start a new session, it seems to work a few minutes, but then it's all the same - I just can't recover from the error. Even if I start a new session, when I close FF, i get "Can't restore session' error and the links/forms still don't work. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Close FF with a few panels open 2. (between these steps, I put the computer in standby mode, don't know if it has any effect) 3. Start FF and restore the session Actual Results: Not sure what caused it, what I did is summarised in the steps - one day, i closed FF as usual, put PC to standby mode, and the next day - problem appears. Expected Results: Certainly it should have restored the session, or correctly start a new one. I read this issue appeared to a user in older version (3.5) on Ubuntu. Only non-system applications running were: Miranda IM (v0.9.0 alpha build #3) Mozilla Thunderbird (v 2.0.0.23 (20090812)) Novell NetDrive (4.1.862)

(In reply to comment #1) > Do you see this problem in safe-mode / with a new profile? > http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode > http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile After disabling all plugins, it looks fine. Before I tried disabling them, i noticed that the problem extended to an older version of FF (3.5.5) - i used this browser before i tried the beta, and i'm sure that all plugins worked fine - so it seems to be caused by the session.
Do you know what extension has caused this?
Its not an extensin causing it. haven't installed any in months. Tried to reinstall. I've got so many errors going on i don't know where to begin. Getting this popup: Do you want to overwrite the profiles with the data from the config directory I get the Yahoo message everytime asking about wanting to make it my default search. Scroll bar still on the left hand side. goes from right to left. Still can't scroll. even this page is hanging right now. preloader keeps spinning in tab. STILL CANNOT click on links. Basically, my FF is non-functions. I guess its back to ol' IE for me. Dang.
Same and more symptoms reported here. http://support.mozilla.com/de/forum/1/515668
this is not an addon issue, the newest version of ff is just down for the count, non-functional. they need to go back to basics and quit trying to get fancy.
Bug 532472 is different by the way. different steps and more symptoms by the way. this is a huge problem and you can't just "resolve" is away.
This is probably due to the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\greprefs\all.js file not being present...
(In reply to comment #10) > This is probably due to the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\greprefs\all.js > file not being present... Temporarily removing this file should reproduce the problem.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I can reproduce this behaviour by removing greprefs\all.js. However, I fail to see under what conditions this file would be removed or compromised. Is this really a practical way to reproduce this issue?
We experienced the issue on a number of computers after Firefox was upgraded. It may have been due to firefox being shutdown with saved session info, followed by upgrade, followed by problem.
T(In reply to comment #13) > We experienced the issue on a number of computers after Firefox was upgraded. > It may have been due to firefox being shutdown with saved session info, > followed by upgrade, followed by problem. We also confirmed that the information in the greprefs\all.js was missing after the upgrade on computer that were affected.

Going to move this to the updater & rename - based on this it doesn't seem to be anything session restore related.
