I don't know if this is supposed to work, but it would be really really useful to be able to choose which calender to add an event for which I've received an invitation (including remote google calenders). Not being able to do this is very frustrating.

Are you using the Provider for Google Calendar extension? 

If yes: Have you read the section about invitations and attendees in the extensions Release Notes and FAQ?

If not: Have you selected the correct email account in the calendar properties?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I had a look and from what I understand I need to change the option calendar.google.enableAttendees to true. I've done this and I still don't see the google calendars under the choices. I guess this is because the email account on which I receive the invitations is not the same as my gmail account. In other words, I want to add an invitation sent to a non-gmail address to my gmail calendar. Is this possible?

I wouldn't suggest this. The way the API works, I have no other possibility other than adding the event as a new event, which means all attendees will receive an email invitation from google, inviting them to your newly added event. If you still want to do this, I believe there are a few more options listed on the FAQ you need to enable. Also, You might have to set the Email account used for that account to "None". Not sure about that last bit though.

I'm closing this bug as "WONTFIX", but its rather a "CANTFIX-until-google-changes-their-API"

Too bad about the API. I hope they change it soon. A possible workaround might be to add a new event in google without any attendees. Granted its not optimal, but its still better than not being able to add it at all ...
