Build Identifier:
WHen I have new mail, and the new mail icon appears in the talkbar, it would be nice if there were some tooltip-kind-of-help when I move the mouse pointer over the new mail icon. That is, Thunderbird could display a summary of new messages (e.g. number of messages, and folders where they were found).
For comparison, if you hover ofer the taskbar's clock, a tooltip with the full date and time is displayed in Windows/XP)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get new mail
2. Move mouse over new mail icon
Actual Results:
Nothing happens
Expected Results:
Something useful could be displayed

Ulrich wouldn't that be solved with us enabling libnotify (see bug 478463) ?

Looking at bug #478463 I can only see that the appearance of the notification changed. Will it also change the reaction on "mouse hover"? If I _click_ on the new mail icon, I get some more information, but that's not what I was asking for.
