The GetPersonas first run page is another good opportunity to point to the new Personas promo video currently being created for launch. Options include: * Simply linking to the video * Embedding and playing it inline * Applying a lightbox functionality * Others? Filing a bug to track this. We can explore the options and work on it post 12/10.
Summary: Highlighting the Personas videon on the GetPersonas First Run page → Highlighting the Personas video on the GetPersonas First Run page
I'd rather just embed it and play inline or with a lightbox. I think it would have a lot more engagement that way.
OS: Mac OS X → All
Also revisiting this bug to note that we'd like to go live with the new Personas video for Firefox 3.6 -- so, given the additional time, lets plan to plug this into the First Run page if there's an appropriate space for it. I changed the Target milestone from 2.0 -> ---
Target Milestone: 2.0 → ---
The final Personas video has arrived. I've spoken to Ryan about adding this to the First Run page in time for the 3.6 release. Ryan, embedding the video and playing inline or with a lightbox (as you suggested above) sounds good to me -- I agree that it would have a lot more engagement that way. Please let me know if you need anything else from me in order to move forward.

I'm having a hard time figuring out a good way to add the video the firstrun page. There's little to no room for anything extra and I don't wan to remove what's there. Leaving bug open for ideas.
(In reply to comment #5) Can you provide a link to the page/mock that this bug refers to?
Thanks, Ryan. Quick idea: add a link to the video in the top heading, which opens and plays it in a lightbox. Simplest way: Move the "Browse the Gallery" button a little higher (say, top-aligned with the heading text) and add the link below it. Mock: http://img.skitch.com/20100119-q458f4uru8pnbkp1shnr48d3ws.png Slightly harder: place the link below the heading text. This would follow reading order and make it more visible. The downside is the header must be made taller, and since the background is an image (possibly used elsewhere?) this makes the change non-trivial. Mock: http://img.skitch.com/20100119-m7k2bwxnc2n19ynia5fiqnwbc1.png If either of these works, let me know. There needs to be a proper "play" icon for the link (something in the style of other GetPersonas buttons).
Thanks Chris! Think I'll go with the simplest method, the header height is fixed and l10 will certainly push it down.
Chris: if you're able to create the 'play' icon I'd be very appreciative. Otherwise it will be me and my inferior photoshop skills :P
r60467 adds the link, just waiting on image from Chris.
Created attachment 422418 [details] Play Video Icon (In reply to comment #10) > Chris: if you're able to create the 'play' icon I'd be very appreciative. Here you go. The text beside it is 14px bold + standard link style.
r60479 Thanks Chris!
