User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en; rv:1.9.0.15) Gecko/2009102617 Camino/2.0 (MultiLang) (like Firefox/3.0.15) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en; rv:1.9.0.15) Gecko/2009102617 Camino/2.0 (MultiLang) (like Firefox/3.0.15) When I have a window open to hotmail.com, it will not maximize at all when I click on the maximize button. If I open tabbed browsing within the window, I can sometimes maximize the window from the other tab (it will maximize from a new tab, but will not always work if the tab is already open). I can return the window to its usual size from either tab (the hotmail tab or the other tab), but I cannot maximize from the tab open to hotmail.com after I return the window to its usual size. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to www.hotmail.com 2. Click on maximize button (green button with a plus sign). Does not work. 3. Open new tab. 4. Click on maximize button from new tab. Will work. 5. Click on maximize button again from either tab to return to normal size. Actual Results: The window will not maximize from step two, but will from step four always if it's a new tab and sometimes if it's an already opened tab. From step five, the window will decrease to normal size from both tabs if the maximize covers the full screen, but if it doesn't (full height, not full width), it will decrease to normal size all the time from the non-hotmail tab, but will sometimes creep out wider and wider from the hotmail tab instead of decreasing. Expected Results: It should have gone to a normal maximize from hotmail.com and then returned to normal size with a second click to the maximize button.
The default behaviour of the green widget is to fit the browser window to its content, not to maximize the window to fill the screen. See bug 361016.
I think it's safe to assume this is WORKSFORME since we've heard no complaints from the reporter. By the way, you can get the behaviour you seem to want by holding down the Shift key while clicking the green widget.
