Please Upload the following PDFs to the Reference section of
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/press/kit-3-5.html
and update the Table of Contents on the Press Center Home page so the Link says "Firefox 3.6 Press Kit".
Laura, do you want this done now or with the 3.6 launch?
Assignee: nobody → steven
Target Milestone: --- → 3.6
I'd like this done for the launch.
Here is where you can find the files: https://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNjK3BIcVgwMEVLSkE9PQ
Attached file en_us version (obsolete) —
This is setup in the firefox3.6 branch in r57499. There's a new copy of the 3.5 press kit page for 3.6:

http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/press/kit-3-6.html

Note: this page only includes the en-US version of the kit.
There are a few more changes we need to make before this page is ready to go:

Can we change the link for the Fastest Firefox video and change it to link to "Five Years of Firefox" site (the link should say "Five Years of Firefox" {http://www.spreadfirefox.com/5years/en-US/}).

Can we also remove the "Open Video..." link completely.

Melissa will add the correct link to the Press Release (I believe)

We may also need to remove the FAQ link but I will confirm this and Melissa's ability to change the link to the Press Release tomorrow.
Depends on: 533511
The Five Years of Firefox and Open Video changes have been done in r57538.
In response to comment 6, Melissa can automatically add the correct blogpost link to the Press Release when it is ready.

She is currently working on the FAQ and will have it for eoweek. Then we can the copy to a new page and link to it from the press kit. Thanks for your patience.
Attached file Final 3.6 FAQs
Here is the Final copy for the FAQ. I think we're all set once this has been added to the staged page.
The FAQ has been added to the 3.6 branch in r58980. An empty template for the 3.6 release announcement press release can be found here:
http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/press/mozilla-2010-X-X.html

The FAQ can be found here:
http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/press/mozilla-2010-X-X-faq.html
The results in the performance chart looks the same as
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/performance/

* 18,148 ms
* 3,669 ms
* 1,524 ms
You are absolutely right. Excellent catch! I will get the new graphic tomorrow and reupload to all the reviewer's guides and get Steven to upload a new PDF.

Thank you, Kohei.

This is the final Guide with edited graphics.
Attachment #416118 - Attachment is obsolete: true
The PDF is updated in the 3.6 branch in r59627.
You rock my socks off. That is all.
Looks great; the announcement and the FAQ will both be updated in a separate bug or here, Melissa/John?
The FAQ is final (doesn't need a date, per se).

I believe the Press Release will be done separately.
That's right, we'll be doing a separate bug for the release (which will be ready soon, I think).

The performance chart says "Results of ... Window XP machine" but
those images says Windows 7:
http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html#feature-performance
http://www-3.6.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/underthehood/

Hmm...
I've emailed update images to Laura to correct the XP reference in the PDF mentioned in Comment #21.
Currently with designer to make appropriate changes to rev guide.
Attached file Final. SERIOUSLY. (obsolete) —
With corrected Windows 7 Text.

Please hold off on implementing this. Looks like there is one more change.
One more thing besides the rev guide...

We'd to add a link to the Blogpost from the FAQ page.
Attached file Final. SERIOUSLY.
This is the most recent version. Approved by Shappy.
Attachment #421484 - Attachment is obsolete: true
PDF updated in r59936.
One more thing I just found...

According to the Personas dashboard, the gallery has now over 40,000 entries:

Thanks Kohei! From now on we're going to call you Eagle-Eye Kohei ;)

I think we'll leave that innaccuracy, mainly because that means having to change references all over the 3.6 version of the site. With launch so imminent (supposedly), I'd rather not make such a huge scale change.

Thanks!
To add to what Laura said, we actually decided to not to update the number on the website and other places because the content had already been localized with 30k as the figure. Our thought was that 30k was impressive enough, and it wasn't worth the extra trouble for the localizers to make a relatively minor change.

Going forward, we'll have to figure out a better strategy for once we pass really big milestones, like 50 or 100k, but that's an issue for another discussion.

I forgot one thing:

We will also need to put a link to the "What's New in 3.6" video in the Press Center, kind of like the link we have for the 5yrs of Firefox.

Instead it should say, "What's New in Firefox 3.6 Video"

Laura, is this replacing the "Overview Video" link? Does the "Five Years of Firefox" stay as well?
Good call. Yes, it replaces the Overview Video and Five Yrs of Firefox stays.

Thanks!
Thanks for the clarification - the video link is updated in r60296.

Where should this link go? Do you have the wording?
I was looking at the staged version of the page and I see a link for "View Press Release" at the top of the page, so I think it's already done?

Also, I dont see the 5yrs of Firefox video link anymore...
Oops, misread and removed the 5years link - added it back in r60299.
Laura - I think this is set - though it doesn't have a link to the press release (just the blog post).
Yeah, that's perfect.

Thank you, Steven!
Can I resolve this bug - or is this staying open for the actual press release (that might be better in a separate bug).
Agreed--Closing. I don't think we need another bug because the link I sent you will go live when everything else goes live...so I think we're set?

Just found another issue:

The FAQ page has a link to the blogpost, but its showing the wrong one.

It should be: http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2010/01/21/firefox-3-6-release/

Please file a separate bug? This is getting confusing.
Sorry--lets close this. Will file another bug.

Thx, Laura; just don't want to miss anything, and this helps me keep the verifications better-scoped.
