User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; it; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; it; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091130 Thunderbird/3.0 From the server option of my IMAP account I selected the checkbox search for new email messages every 3 minutes but it doesn't works. Sometime I leave on my PC with thunderbird for hours and tb doesn't advice me of new mails automatically, then when I select a mail folder, tb contacts the mail server and download messages with a timestamp of many hours before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open tb 2. Leave tb opened for some hour without use it (don't select the tb mail folders) 3. After some hours go to tb and select a mail folder or manually download new messages 4. Tb download new messages that arrived on your email server many hours ago (so it doesn't downloaded automatically your mail every 3 minutes) I'm using the extension "minimizeToTray 1.5" (GUID:{3502a070-ea2f-11dd-ba2f-0800200c9a66}). Could be it that "freeze" tb when it is reduced to the taskbar?

Could be it that "freeze" tb > when it is reduced to the taskbar? It could be. DO you have the issue if you leave Tb running in the background without it being minimized ?
(In reply to comment #1) > What are the values of mail.server.default.autosync_offline_stores ? "mail.server.default.autosync_offline_stores" is set as "true" > It could be. DO you have the issue if you leave Tb running in the background > without it being minimized ? Yes, i tried to disable the extension and leaved tb open, but the problem is still here.
Can you generate a log for ImapAutoSync by following the instructions at (https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging) ? and attach that log file here, by using the add an attachment link above ?
I started thunderbird from the prompt in this manner: c:\>set NSPR_LOG_MODULES=ImapAutoSync:4 c:\>set NSPR_LOG_FILE=c:\LogFile.log c:\>"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" Then I used thunderbird normally for many hours. Now I turned off thunderbird and open the file LogFile.log It contains only this line: 0[a2a140]: autosync paused
Do you still see this issue when using version 5 or 6 (due out in a week)? - If you no longer see the problem, please set status to RESOLVED, and set resolution to WORKSFORME. (or perhaps INVALID, if you determined the problem is not Thunderbird) - If you still see the problem, please provide updated details, and any additional steps needed to reproduce the problem.

it was reported as well here: http://superuser.com/questions/454729/google-calendar-sync-has-stopped-working The error: 0[1a0f140]: autosync paused
When Thunderbird 14.0 tries to sync, it asks for the username and password over and over again.
