Build : Netscape 6 PR3(ID:2000090720)for Solaris.8(intel) Platform : Solaris 5.7/5.8 for intel Description: Mail is giving login failure alert after entering the password during authentication. This is working fine with NS6PR3(ID:2000090913) for Solaris(Sparc).
more information please! Everyone else seems to be able to login just fine. - POP or IMAP? - does your username contain any non-alphanumeric characters, like %, \, or @? - how about international characters? - does your password contain any unusual characters? (less likley to matter) - have you tried a build in between these two dates to figure out exactly which build started exhibiting the problem? I think the only relevant change recently was the % and @ escaping that seth did - I wonder if we broke a different case or something
if your username contain a "@", make sure you set the "mail.allow_at_sign_in_user_name" pref to true. also, which mail server (and version) are you using?
More information: - IMAP Server - User name contains alphanumeric characters only - Not tried with international characters - Password consists of alphabets and % symbol in the middle, no spaces/blanks - Mail is working fine with build ID:2000080719 for intel_Solaris - We are using Mailer Version 1.3.0
ok, can we get more consistency with build numbers? the intel_Solaris build is older than the other two builds which means either 1) it's a solaris/sparc issue (maybe having to do with byte-ordering) 2) it broke before 19-Sept

This bugfix is tested on Mozilla(ID:2000100403) for i386_Solaris and working fine. Need to be tested on NS6PR3 latest build.
nobody seems to be able to reproduce this. I'm marking WORKSFORME
