User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5

I have done a bit of reading about this and have tried a number of things but to no avail. I have taken ownership of the Firefox folder (and files), I have granted me "full control", I have "run as administrator", but all preferences revert to original install. Examples - cannot attach my signature above reply (instead of recommended below), I cannot save history (default is never remember history). Otherwise, both softwares seem to work fine, plugins work, etc.

I assume this is some read-only problem because I cannot unset read-only on my C drive no matter what I do.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.change preference
2.close software
3.reopen software, set to default
Actual Results:
default settings

Expected Results:
save preferences
