53492 - GTK form widgets are sized incorrectly with TrueType fonts

The GTK form widgets are too large.  The <INPUT type="text"> widget in
particular is at least twice as tall as it needs to be.  See the attached screen
shot.  This is not happening with XP Toolkit input widgets.

This is Linux build 2000-09-20-08 on a 126 dpi screen with scalable TrueType
fonts (Times New Roman 16, Arial 16, and Courier New 12 for serif, sans serif,
and fixed-width, respectively).

Predictably, this PNG displays improperly in NN 4.x.  This page best viewed with
Mozilla :)

I am not seening this happening on my setup. Stock RedHat 6.2. What system are
you using?

I'm seeing this on RH 6.2 at 100dpi, and Slackware 7.0 and Slackware 7.1, both
at 126 dpi.  XFree86 4.0.1 everywhere.

I'm only seeing this when I use scalable TrueType fonts.  If I use a bitmap font
for the fixed-width font (e.g. adobe courier), the boxes are all the right size.
