While deleting messages from my inbox, the location of the delete button shifts down if a message has PGP information with in it. For example, a blue highlighted details message appears above the delete key stating "UNTRUSTED Good Signature from <user>". So I am unable to quickly delete many messages since my mouse will now be over the Details link. This in inefficient. The additional information is useful but I would prefer it be displayed below my row of buttons I am currently using rather than shifting the row of buttons lower on the screen. This design requires me to have to move my mouse down to get back to deleting messages and back up if the next message has no details in order to keep deleting.

So your issue is only present when enigmail is installed right ?

  I would agree that the behavior is related to having enigmail
installed. Should I file a ticket with this product? By the way, trying
to use Enigmail within Thunderbird 3.0 hangs the thunderbird 3.0
application. It would be good to know if you can reproduce the hang.

reproduce. Select message with attached encrypted attachment. Select
attachment. Choose "Decrypt and save as". Thunderbird hangs.

I'd send more information but if I reproduce it I will not be able to
get this email sent due to the hang.

Actually, Enigmail is only one of many examples where some additional information is displayed above the header bar. Things like "this message could be scam" or Junk information or the header bar provided by the "Bugmail" addon are also displayed above the other headers, causing the buttons to move.

--> This seems to be common practice with Thunderbird, I therefore propose to for either discuss with some UI designer(s), or wontfix.
