Some SMTP server has longer timeout betwen connection estab. and login.
Message "Login to server .. failed" <Again><EnterNewPassw><Cancel>
is displayed too soon. In my case 8 seconds. On bakground this msg window just start sending email.

can you provide an smtp:5,timestamp log as described at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging and attach it to this lof so we can investigate ? (use the add attachment link above)
