I was testing the multi-locale build today and noticed that "suomi" is spelled with a lowercase "s" in the locale selection list: http://share.ovi.com/media/5tas.Screenshots/5tas.10004. That's a correct spelling in Finnish, but I wonder if for the sake of consistency it would make sense to spell it "Suomi". Many other language names are capitalized, even if the rules say otherwise (e.g. French and Polish). Also Nokia seems to capitalize it: http://share.ovi.com/media/5tas.Screenshots/5tas.10005
In http://hg.mozilla.org/mobile-browser/file/ba670817e7de/chrome/content/languages.properties I see a couple of other language names (ca, fi, ro, sk, sl) that could be capitalized for the same reason. I've copied some of our localizers to ask them to share their opinion about this.

While I too am a bit irritated with the discrepancy in looks, I'm not willing to skip on Finnish spelling on account of other languages / presentational issues.
Also
* Suomi is both the country (Suomi) and the language (suomi). So, if the language name is capitalized pedantic finns think they are looking at a country selector and might think there's a translation error.
* This a presentational issue. The capitalization is not as annoying in some ways of presentation the language options as in others. No use tweaking l10n for something that differs every now and then as the program/content where this string is used changes.
* Besides this is really a universal thing: the Suomi/suomi differentiation is everywhere (even with the Nokia counter example, i have a one of example in PS3 sing star). Modifying it would just look like an error... and be a bad example for others.
OTH if the presentation/UI folk decide that all language names should be capitalized then it's their prerogative to change it (well, I'm sure lots of people would not take this hands down, but still that's their realm).
My vote's on closing this bug, but I'm interested to hear what other localizers think.
