Internet explorer works just fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox to no avail Reproducible: Always
Are you presented with any error message when you try to start Firefox?
Dave here is the comment I get: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at en-us.start3.mozilla.com.
Here is the rest of the comment: # The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. # If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. # If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
is your browser in "offline mode" for whatever reason? (File-> Work Offline)
No it's not.
Please follow comment #2, this is caused by a third party Firewall on your system. This can not be reproduced by me and many million Firefox users, marking wfm Please contact http://support.mozilla.com if you need additional help.
