This seems to be a platform independent bug, cause server side. Load the page specified in URL and go down to step 3. Next to "Component", you see the drop down list with the highlighted menu: "Choose one..." If you want to choose one, you see only one item and a long list of empty elements. The only element that reads anything says: "A Wide one to widen the widget" I think this is a major bug because this prevents people from using the helper at all.
Reassigning to Dawn.

Reassigning to gerv who owns this document, i think. (Reassign back to me if not). This is behaving slightly differently for me. With 4.x, i get a non-scrollable dropdown which takes up the entire height of my screen and ends at "keyboard navigation". With mozilla (sept 15 linux build) the dropdown is scrollable and i seem to be getting the entire list (ends at Y2k), but I also get a number of blank entries at the end. Gerv: We really have a lot of components. Is a dropdown the best way to do this? We definatly want this to be usable with 4.x. Erich, what browser were you using? What version?

I'm seing the described problem with Moz M18 Build ID 2000092108 on Win 98. Viewing the same page with NN4.7 shows a scrollable list ending with W2K followed by about 5 empty lines. Problem might not be on bugzilla's side but html form rendering? just wondering...
endico - I do own this document. I made a fix to stop having two copies of the components list; it now populates it at JS load time. However, there seems to be a bug in NS 4.x which stops it adding scrollbars. <sulk> I'll have to switch it back. However, I have no idea how to check out a previous version of an individual file from CVS - all the instructions only tell you how to get a whole module. Can you help? Gerv
It turns out that the original problem Erich had was a bug in mozilla. Asa saw this problem too but i forgot to reassign the bug. Is mozilla broken or is there a problem with the new version of this page? Maybe the latter since 4.x has a problem with it too. You can get bonsai to tell you how to back stuff out. for example: http://bonsai.mozilla.org/cvsquery.cgi?module=SeaMonkeyAll&branch=HEAD&cvsroot=/cvsroot&date=explicit&mindate=969677460&maxdate=969678240&who=pavlov%25netscape.com
This should now be fixed, but I can't test it. Whoever verifies this bug, please check that the Component dropdown on the URL above is completely populated, and has a scroll bar if there's not room for all the components. Gerv

OK, thanks for the nice job. It's now looking perfect in today's build as well as in Netscape 4.7. All components appear in the list and no extra lines are visible at the end.
