536258 - Multiple errors when trying to create an account

I got an error message on the "Create your Weave Account - Page 2 or 4".  The error was:

    Not Found

    The requested URL /misc/1/captcha_html was not 
    found on this server.


How did I get there?  I was creating a new account from the sign-on diaglog.  This is on Firefox 3.5b5.  There is an option for "start over".  I clicked that.  Next I got a dialog to log in as a different user or create an acct.  I selected create an acct.  I filled in the user name, password, email, etc. I selected "continue" to move to the next screen.  I was using the default Mozilla server. Then I immediately got the above error message.

Then I selected "Go Back".  Everything is still filled in.  I selected "continue" again.  Same error.  I did this a few times.  At this point I would have normally given up on the service.  I paused to start writing this bug, then tried it again.  This time the capcha appeared in page 2 of the setup.  I entered the catcha text.  Then got the following pop-up:

    Error Created Account

    Unknown error

I said ok to that pop-up and it moved me to Page 3 or 4. Looks ok!? Grrr...

Now on Page 4 or 4.  Left the default "Sync Everything" and selected "Start Syncing"  no response.  Waited a couple minutes.  Still no response.  Clicked "Start Syncing" a couple more times.  No response.   Grrr...

At this point, the text next to the Weave icon in the status bar at the bottom of Firefox says "Not Signed In".  

Canceling on page 4 or 4 on the create account dialog.

I thought I had a corrupted acct due to the errors above.  But I logged in by clicking on the Weave icon in the status bar at the bottom.  Seems to work ok!?  The log shows syncs being scheduled.

Except "1" instead of "2"? The "1" page seems to be working for me now:

Zandr, was there something that went down perhaps a little before Monday 2pm?

Freshly installed 1.0b3  I uninstalled b1 beforehand.

I am getting a "not found" error when I try to look at the first link.  2nd link works fine.  I'll try to repro the problem again.  Just a sec...

Hmmm..., I tried the same exact steps (including mistakes) and it works fine today.  Mark it WFM?

That's about when we cut over to the new code on user registration, and you likely saw some ugliness while we had captcha disabled to run the unit tests.

I'd call it WFM.
