User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 GTB6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Firefox only runs if it is started twice, then proceeds to open two windows. Happens after a period of inactivity (after system wakes up from standby), or after an initial system boot or restart. Also, when I started Firefox and the 3.5.6 download came up, it installed successfully, checked for add-on updates, but did not start Firefox afterwards. (I gave 5 mins). I then started Firefox again and two windows opened (including the Mozilla homepage from the download complete). If the computer is active (for example now I'm typing this report) I can restart Firefox or open a new window without a hitch. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. After a system boot, start Firefox 2. Wait 5 mins to check if it will start up 3. Start a new Firefox 4. Two windows open Actual Results: As above Expected Results: Start first time, preferably immediately. I use AVG 9 (could this be a problem?) Uses default theme. Built from http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-1.9.1/rev/a31ccbb61076 All add-ons I use have been recommended by Mozilla at some point, with exception of my English dictionary and AVG safe search.
Please create a new profile and test there. It could possibly be your google toolbar. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
Could also potentially be caused by an anti-virus program or the like. If comment 1 doesn't work, try disabling any you're using, rebooting, and seeing if the problem persists.
