Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20091222 Minefield/3.7a1pre Can't reproduce a crash here.

Re-tested in safe mode and didn't get a crash. So I started at the top of my addons list and disabled AdBlock Plus and restarted and there was no crash when the video started loading. Does that mean it's the culprit? Maybe. Maybe not, right? I'm sure IPC isn't playing nice with a lot of things right now. I will report the bug to the ABP author and see what they can do with it.

Filed a ticket with ABP, ABP author confirms it's not an ABP issue. Will continue the hunt.

I don't know what to say. I just disabled EVERY addon except ABP and it crashes. I disable ABP and it doesn't crash.

I got 3x a crash on http://www.rtl.nl/components/soaps/gtst/index_video.xml when I clicked on the first video but could not reproduce it intentionally. It only happened once per profile. http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-8258b2e6-d6ae-498d-831a-e166b2091222 This is my stack: 0 xul.dll Abort xpcom/base/nsDebugImpl.cpp:376 1 mozcrt19.dll _filbuf 2 xul.dll mozilla::ipc::RPCChannel::DebugAbort ipc/glue/RPCChannel.cpp:393 3 nspr4.dll PR_DestroyLock 4 xul.dll mozilla::ipc::RPCChannel::Call ipc/glue/RPCChannel.cpp:134

Once I got a mysterious message that DEP had closed Minefield in order to protect my computer.

I could crash reliably on the page Brian mentions if Adblock Plus blocks one of the subrequests of that Flash video: bp-8db79a13-95a2-4fc0-84dc-7ba3f2091222 bp-711f1744-0103-4670-8bb1-47b132091222 To reproduce install Adblock Plus 1.1.2 from https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/1865, restart Minefield and go to menu Tools / Adblock Plus Preferences. Click "Add filter" and copy "|http://assets.vimeo.com/rev/1/flash/moogaloop_np.swf?*" into the input field. Click OK and visit http://file-magazine.com/tv/on-time.

Here is a log file from WinDbg for the crash that I am seeing with ABP enabled.
Comment 10•15 years ago

That's the same stack trace as in my crash reports.

Let's confirm this, steps to reproduce in comment 7 should be sufficient. Note that one of the stack traces in bug 535280 is identical even though the problem described there seems different.

This is almost certainly bug 536437 and so also bug 535280.

I'm going to have to disagree with duping my bug to any others at this point because the problems noted in bug 536437 and bug 535280 are different from my bug, even if the stack traces are close to being the same. For example, bug 535280 crashes after the video ends. My bug crashes before the video even loads. I'll wait and see if a patch on one fixes the other and vice versa before I dupe this to anything else. ;)
You'll notice that I didn't dup this ;). Yet.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100120 Firefox/3.7a1pre I am no longer seeing this issue as of the 20 January build of Minefield. The browser does not crash even with ABP enabled. I am going to close this out as WORKSFORME. If anyone disagrees, update the bug as necessary. Thanks.
