Hendrik, Does this happens in -safe-mode (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode) ? Are you using POP/Imap, what kind of folder is your draft folder (a local folder, an imap folder) ?

(In reply to comment #3) > Can you share an example and attach it to this bug ? What do you mean with example? A message to which this happens? It happens all the time. It already happened in 2.0, I hoped it would be over by now, but no.

(In reply to comment #5) > > What do you have in Tools -> Account Settings ->Copies and Folders at When > sending messages, Automatically ... To save a copy in ‘Another folder’, namely Sent messages under [Google Mail], so that’d be imap://hamaryns%40googlemail.com@imap.gmail.com/%5BGoogle%20Mail%5D/Sent This happens in all of the Thunderbirds I have ever used, on several different computers, both under Windows and Linux.

This is a message with which the bug occurs, as requested (as I said, it happens with any MIME attachment). Furthermore, I forgot to mention the error message: Niet gelukt om uw bericht als concept te bewaren. Ga na of uw e-mail- & nieuwsgroepaccountinstellingen juist zijn en probeer het opnieuw. (see http://mxr.mozilla.org/l10n-central/source/nl/mail/chrome/messenger/messengercompose/composeMsgs.properties#50 and #187) The title of the dialog is ‘Fout bij opslaan van concept’ (#176)

I'm spammed the mozilla-nl folks while replying to both the email and the attached digest. So again this WFM for Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20100111 Thunderbird/3.0.1. Hendrik where do you live in NL? (I'm in den haag, maybe we could meet to solve see the issue)

(In reply to comment #7) > And you are only using Gmail right ? Does it go away if you choose to sent it > to some other folder ? > > This WFM. It happened before I started using Gmail. I didn’t notice your spamming on our mailinglist, I suppose the moderator did :-) (I’m not in NL, yet, maybe next year. Now Tübingen, Germany.)

I have been seeing this with the most recent SeaMonkey builds (~2.5 and newer) on OS/2 (I haven't checked on other platforms, yet, though I do have a couple Linux boxes available, as well as Win32). Presently, I am running: Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; Warp 4.5; rv:10.0.4esrpre) Gecko/20120407 Firefox/10.0.4esrpre SeaMonkey/2.7.2 ID:20120407131334 I can probably mock up a test email to provide. Yes, it also happens in safe mode, so it is not an extension getting in the way. I'm not able to get much of anything from the error console when attempting to save, however, I do get this upon *opening* the mimed message: Error: msgId is null Source File: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindowOverlay.js Line: 2922 and above that, several instances of: Error: ownerDocument.defaultView is null Source File: jar:file:///J:/OS2WEB/Mozilla/SeaMonkey/Profiles/4h0tldty.default/extensions/%7B7f57cf46-4467-4c2d-adfa-0cba7c507e54%7D.xpi!/components/mafContentPolicy.js Line: 87 I get nothing further in the error console when attempting to reply, however, in this particular example, a couple interesting things do happen upon clicking Reply: 1. The subject header is not carried over. IOW, the subject of the reply is now simply "Re:" and no further text. 2. The original sender (of the mimed message, not the sender who forwarded it to me) is apparently not recognized as a valid From: header. The reply has no recipient listed. However, replying to all lists the cc'd recipients (but no To:). The mimed message was originally generated on Microsoft Outlook 14.0. The message was forwarded to me from SeaMonkey 2.6 (on OS/2). It is plain text.
