User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.16) Gecko/2009120208 Firefox/3.0.16 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.16) Gecko/2009120208 Firefox/3.0.16 Firefox did automatic update to 3.+ which I didn't want. When it updated before it came back with "server Not Found Errors' just like it is doing again. I will have to find a CD with earlier version to reinstall the earlier version 2+. I have also stopped Firefox from updating this in future. I just wish it would work like it is without all this extra work I have to do to make it run correctly/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to a Web Site 2.Comes back "Server Not Found" Error 3. Actual Results: Doesn't go to Web Site Expected Results: When I saw the upgrade to #.0+ I knew this would happen It should have worked. I have to reinstall earlier version.
Sounds like you need to configure your firewall to allow Firefox access to the internet. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cannot+connect+after+upgrading+Firefox

I had that very problem. Unfortunately, it happened when I had a hijack of Google, so I upgraded Firefox. Upgrading did not get rid of the hijack, but I finally got rid of the hijack, via the services of “What the Tech” website. They are a wonderful operation, those “What the Tech” volunteers. After ridding my computer of malicious code, I had what seemed like misfires of servers, and yes it was happening in IE as well. It is hard to deduce that your problem is in Firefox when IE is also affected. When I downgraded to Firefox 3.0.17 the problem was fixed. The sad part is that the Firefox download site mentions none of this, so you struggle with re-installs, uninstalls of add-ons etc. and other useless solutions until you stumble onto these types of posts. I guess you get what you pay for, since Firefox hasn’t cost me a dime. Beggars can’t be choosers. I like Firefox over IE though. With 3.0.17 it is working great again. The way that I finally deduced that it wasn’t my router or connection was that I hopped on my wife’s computer that still had an older version of Firefox, and that was working great! I was a bit worried that I still had remnants of the malicious-hijack code. It was great to find this solution of downgrading. Also I have heard that editing the about:config file can fix the problem for some machines. However that fix did not work for me. I did the firewall configuring and I tried a fix with the about:config file. It seems that I am not the only one that has had a similar problem.
