My systems here at home are running openSuSE (10.3 t0 11.2) and KDE 3-4 using both English (EN) and Russian (RU) on with Ukrainian (UA or UK) and I always use international date format. DD/MM/YYYY.
Mozilla 3.x does not use my system preferences and instead uses MM/DD/YYYY in general and YYYY-MM-DD in 'bookmarks' (the Places database).
the format in the sqlite YYYY.MM.DD i can live with but not in Mozilla's everyday functions such as the bookmarks, history, creation page code etc...

Thank you in advance,
Спасибо,
Landis

post at forums.Mozillazine.org> FireFox Builds:

Hello,
I've asked this before and I don't see where it is being addressed.
I use both EN and RU translations of Namoroka (FireFox 3.6x) and use international date format: DD/MM/YYYY, but Mozilla does not use my system preferences.
i.e., backups of bookmarks: bookmarks-2009-12-27.json... I'm ok with this format, but
12/29/2009 for bookmark creation or visitation for instance, is not ok...
Everything else on my several openSuSE workstations here at home follow int. date and time.
But not Mozilla.
Why?

Спасибо.
respectfully,
Landis

Hello, Landis. I could not reproduce the issue you mention with Firefox 3.6 and 4.0b7pre Ukrainian on Ubuntu with system locale set to uk_UA or en_GB : both times my dates are shown in system format DD/MM/YYYY. Only in en_US locale dates are in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Is this still an issue ?
