Bug 537227 has the detailed instructions, please be sure to check it out.

Text to translate:

======================
Your online security is Firefox's top priority. Firefox is free, and won't take over your computer or compromise your privacy.

======================

Please provide a translation into Romanian in a comment to this bug by Wednesday, January 13th, 2010.

There is a hard limit of 140 characters for the translation. Please let us know if you think you have troubles making it within this limit.

Thanks!
The original English text is not an appealing one in Romanian, so here's a close alternative that sounds friendlier:

======================
Siguranța voastră pe internet are prioritate în Firefox. Firefox e gratuit și nu vă va compromite calculatorul.
======================

which translates in English to:

Your online safety is a priority in Firefox. Firefox is free and will not compromise the computer.

For the record:
- we don't use much the concept of top priority, if it's a priority, usually it's one, if there are more we call it priority nr. 1, but with no difference to number two that is just the second one
- we don't use much the term security, maybe because that was the name of the secret police in the comunist era
- I can't use the term „take over” because it would personalize Firefox

Thanks Alexandru. I have to admit that I suggested a similar translation for Polish, for more or less the same reasons :) Copying Patrick to check with him if that's OK.

In English it sounds awful...which means nothing about how it will sound in Romanian. Alexandru's explanation is both convincing and very interesting. Many thanks.
