User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

This happens when I call up the webpage. It appears and then disappears. I then open the same webpage in Internet Explorer and there is no problem.
There is no sidebar open when this happens. I use the NoScript addon, but even when instructed to accept scripts globally, the problem still exists.
Note: this is no unique to this website. Calling up Yahoo options pages has the same result. Page appears and then disappears.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter website url http://www.capitalone.com/
2. Hit enter
3. Page appears and then disappears.
Actual Results:
Page appears and then disappears.
Expected Results:
The webpage should not disappear.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles?s=profile
What do you mean by disappear? You just see a white page?
What antivirus, antispyware, firewall software do you run?

When I run Firefox in Safe Mode the problem appears to go away.
When the page did disappear, I did just see a white page.
I run McAfee and Windows Firewall.

If the problem goes away in safe mode, the issue is likely with an extension. Please see the instructions at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes on how to troubleshoot and narrow it down to the extension causing the issue. Once you do, you can contact the extension author.

It appears the extension RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 1.0 is the culprit. Pity it was a neat way of copying files in RA format.
