User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091216 Fedora/3.5.6-1.fc11 Firefox/3.5.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091209 Fedora/3.0-3.fc11 Lightning/1.0pre Thunderbird/3.0 Appears in two ways: 1. When send message in HTML, message displayed in Sent folder is shown as text version, not HTML. 2. Some Inbox messages in HTML also shown in text version. In both cases, one can see the rendered HTML by hitting ctrl-e to open another window, but that should not be necessary. We are not talking here about displaying the HTML source. What is displayed is what one would see if the HTML were converted to text. For example, italicized text is surrounded with foreslant characters //. I'm sorry, but I can't find other bug reports of this. Reproducible: Always Not sure how I would show this to anyone, short of screen captures. It developed since the upgrade of a couple of weeks ago.
Screenshots would be nice indeed.
I found the cause of the problem. An upgrade lost the settings of the "View | Message Body As" to nothing. It had been set as "Original HTML" for so long and through so many upgrades that I had forgotten about it. The display defaulted to "Plain Text" even though that was not the option selected. So the key point would seem to be that upgrades should preserve settings and one didn't.
