User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: 3.0
Thunderbird 3.0 will not start in XP after updating from 2.0.0.23. Tried uninstalling, removing program files directory, clearing registry entries with CCleaner, and starting with a new fresh profile. The process shows up in Task Manager but still will not display or do anything. Also tried Safe Mode as well. Disabled all firewalls/antivirus and it still happened.
Installed addons are: MinimizeToTray, PitchDark (theme), and Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate)
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
Run?
Running TinyXP Rev 09 but this shouldn't be an issue as 2.0.0.23 ran perfectly fine before this. Actually, I rolled back to 2.0.0.23 and that still works.

Please install in a complete empty directory and if it still fails try a new profile first.

The profile manager doesn't start ?
With installing in an empty directory and trying to open the profile manager it should work. I have no idea what could be done in such a case because it works for me and most users.

Version: unspecified → 3.0
To the above comment: I tried Safe Mode, it doesn't work.
I tried making a new profile in a new directory via profile manager in 2.0.0.23 and loaded it. Then updated to 3.0 and couldn't get thunderbird to load.
Now in thunderbird 3.0, I was not even able to load profile manager.

What is tinyXP ?

A very small distribution of Windows XP that is optimized for small hard drives and makes the OS much faster. This shouldn't affect Thunderbird though, and it worked perfectly up to 3.0

tinyxp sounds like nlite and small means they removed components. It's possible that this hacked XP version is missing some components that are now needed.
Debugging would be possible with Dependency Walker
