I can't find any possibility to remove a localization from the "edit collection" page.

It might not seem like it, but this is precisely the bug you described earlier: The localization box will force you to add a localization for the current site language. If you visit the page in en-US, it will enforce this locale being present. If you visit it in de, it enforces de. You get the picture.
