Build: NS6PR3(ID:2000090913) for Sparc_Solaris
       NS6PR3(ID:2000080720) for Intle_SOalris
Description:
Set the Preferences->History->Browsing history to Some days(say 9).
Visit some sites and look into Tasks->Tools->History. It shows a blank page.
Don, Now that slamm's gone, who is this going to?
since .jar packing for linux (since moz build 2000092013) the history
window is allways empty, IF you install 'Navigator only' from the
moz...-sea.tar.gz package.
Reason: the history window seems to depend on the file
components/libmork.so,
which is installed only together with Mail/News.
seems to be a JAR packaging issue. CC'ing Don, Warren, rjc please advise what
can be done.
Hmmm, who usually fixes jar packaging issues like this? Do we need to fix this
for RTM? How heinous is it to have a blank history window in a Navigator-only
install?
Priority: P3 → P2
Nominate for RTM.

Any theories on what this might have to do with .jar packaging?

.jar files only contain .xul/.js/.dtd etc. files, not .so's. I think the
problem with the missing .so is that it simply isn't in a navigator-only
install. That would be the case regardless of .jar packaging, no?

In any case, I'm going to look into moving this .so to the navigator component.
There are issues of dependencies on yet more libraries...

We reproduced the problem on Win98. I don't think it's got anything to do with
.jars. mork library is needed by the browser so it should appear there in the
various packages-* files.

I've attached a patch that does that. Am looking for review and super-review,
at which point we'll go for [rtm++].

Dan, I think you DO count officially for packaging. :-)

need info: is this Solaris only? We couldn't repro this on Win95 or Win98.
(Although we couldn't clear the history or delete any history items on either
platform which seems like a bigger problem.)

I saw this problem on i386_Solaris and Sparc_Solaris platforms. I did't checked
on Linux.
fyi, this is/was all platforms, see law's 10/06 comments. The key is the nav only install.
PDT, this is a Navigator-only install problem. Making this "+" again since it's
safely working on the trunk. Please approve.
