Details

(Whiteboard: [linux64][hardware][buildslaves])

We know these new 1u boxes can run linux32 and also win2k3. We are still running tests on win2k3 machine but looks good so far. Can you reimage the linux32 1u box with linux64? We'd like to see if these machines support linux64 also. As much as possible, please match to what is in https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReferencePlatforms/Linux-CentOS-5.0_64-bit and was used in bug#519071 for our linux64 VMs. Thanks.
justdave - needs centos 5.0 64bit pxe image @ castro (+ nic driver).

releng, punt back when you've allocated hardware we should rebuild on.

(In reply to comment #2) > releng, punt back when you've allocated hardware we should rebuild on. There were two ix machines used for imaging, and just returned to us last week. I believe these two machines are on 3rd floor, needing to be powered, racked. Please use the win32 machine for this linux64 work. (fyi:we're still debugging problems with the linux ix machines, so might need that linux ref image machine again.)

Please don't use the Windows or 32-bit Linux ref machines, we have updates to make to those ref images, and ideally, need a place to maintain them.
So which machines are we to use then?
Can we use one of the 32-bit linux ones, since they're not ready for production yet? Or we get another one. If we're going to deploy a bunch of 64-bit ix machines we'll need a ref machine, anyways. John, what do you think?
Punt back when you find the hardware you want.

I'll push this back once we're ready to image.

Please use what is currently known as mv-moz2-linux-ix-slave25 for this, which should be shut off already. Please call the new machine linux64-ix-ref.build.mozilla.org. Let me know if you need anything else.

This still needs comment #1 fixed first. Copying justdave.

Whiteboard: creating linux64 image
We've decided to use this machine as a Windows 64-bit builder instead. We'll come back to this at some point, but for now, RESO INCOMPLETE. bug 561846 tracks the 64-bit windows work.

Grabbing this, while I figure out if this is already done in the various "new ix machines in new colo" bugs.
