The address bar breaks shortly after install. It worked at first, then the next day I typed in an address and it wouldn't go (I tried Enter and the goto button). I reinstalled and it worked again for a short while then stopped again. It also seems impossible to copy text from the address bar after it breaks.

My Computer is running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, I do use quite a few plugins although I don't believe I've added any new ones since the latest version of Firefox came out. If you need more specifics just send me an email with instructions to gather and send any additional information needed.

Since this doesn't effect booksmarks (including the bookmarks toolbar) or the search function I've been able to get around the issue and being that I've not seen any other reports of this bug I'm assuming it's something unique to my setup or other people have had the issue and don't want to go through this process. In any case as I said before if there's any information I can add to help (such as my specific plugins/extensions) don't hesitate to ask.

To rule out extension problems and profile corruptions, please try safe-mode / a new profile:

Amazingly enough I hadn't thought about that before (I must be tired or something...) The problem does appear to be related to some plugin though as I said before I don't think I've added any since updating to the current version of Firefox. Is there a program I can use to list all my plugins or better yet directly submit them to this report.

After submitting that last comment I tried again (In the normal mode) and it seems to be working again but, since it worked then stopped twice before it'll probably break again.

What it could be (since it works in safe mode, and broke with the last update), is that an addon is simply incompatible with the newest firefox, even though it says it is. So, you can do one of two things. Disable your installed addons one-by-one until the issue is gone permanently. The last one you disabled is most likely the problem. Or, create a new profile, and install them one-by-one until you find the problem. Either way, when you find what is causing the problem, report to the extension developer.

Ordinarily that's what I'd do but, since it seems to switch between working and not I can't really be sure that the disabled addon was the problem and that it's not just because I changed something to create a temporary fix.

OK, well, do this then. Create a new profile, don't modify anything, see if the problem comes back.

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode or a fresh profile? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.

My apologies, I've not had the problem in a while. I seem to have forgotten about this bug, don't remember when it was resolved.
