Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.75 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.2.17 i586; Nav) BuildID: for the past week or so the nightly builds have refused to load at all. they seem to get to the stage of actually creating the .mozilla dir and then just stall completely. no error messages are given. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. load mozilla 2. 3. Actual Results: mozilla stalls. Expected Results: mozilla loads i run slackware linux 7.1 pretty much un-messed with. no unusual hardware or anything that might cause conflicts that i can think of i cant get the build number because it doesnt seem to spit it out to the console and i cant think of anywhere else to get it from. besides, this problem is with all recent mozilla builds.
Are you installing to a directory where the user you normally use have write-access? If not, you need to start mozilla once as root, before other users can start it. Various files/directories are then created. Please report back if this was the problem.
Got mail from reporter: "looks like that was the problem :/ thanks for your help." --- No problem, meiso@sdf.lonestar.org. There will be a release note about this - details in bug 42184 "Mozilla-bin must not write to bin dir during installation"
