Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Hi, whenver I close the browser (Firefox), it doesn't completely shut down. When I run software, (Piniform) and graphics, etc., when I want to preview, I get the message that Firefox is already running - but it isn't. The only I can completely shut down Firefox is go Ctl Alt Delete and shut down the running process - which can't be good for my computer - it happens at every session and it is getting really annoying.
Reproducible: Always
Actual Results:
I can't show you the results, I don't know how anyway. I close Firefox, and it doesn't actually close, but is still a running process.
Expected Results:
It doesn't shut down.
Shut down - Close.

Please try safe-mode and/or a new profile:

and make sure you are using the latest plugin versions.

This is usually caused by addons, ghostery is one that has been causing problems lately.
Hardware: Other → x86
ever since I upgraded to this latest version:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
I experience the same thing, the process never closes by itself. Have to select end process when I go to shut down.
System info:
XP, Vers 2002, Serv Pack 3
If I open Tools Add-ons, the following are listed:
Java Quick Starter 1.0
list.it 0.4.8.1
Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.1
Move Media Player 1.0.0.071303000004
RealArcade V3 Plugin 3.0 (opposite of highlighted with exclamation in red circle)
Winamp Toolbar 5.6.11.2

Try disabling the move media player. I think that is causing it. However, try disabling them all, or trying safe mode.
Hi, I disabled - actually uninstalled Ghostery - and started in Safe Mode.. I've tried a couple of times to open/close since then, and it seems to be OK now.. keeping fingers crossed - I do not like having to go in to processes and close them.
Thanks!
