Details
Someone on IRC today had problems using Jetpack (the usual "TypeError Cc['@labs.mozilla.com/jetpackdi;1'] is undefined") and it turned out that his machine is a PowerPC. If possible we should provide a PowerPC build of Jetpack's binary.

how would this line up with plans for PPC support in firefox over the next year?

Can we just compile to a universal dylib? (is that even possible?) If not it should just be a matter of compiling separately for/on PPC.
I don't know what PPC support plans are. I know building on 10.4 is now broken on trunk, so that might mean dropped 10.4 support as well. I don't know if that's at all linked to PPC though... Josh would likely know.
I don't know what our PPC plans are for 1.9.3, we haven't really talked about it, but at this point it looks like we will support PPC. We will probably not support PPC after Gecko 1.9.3.

We will be monitoring all these issues after the rebooted Jetpack code base is released in the first week of March to ensure their causes are not duplicated. Many of the bugs/issues with the prototype version of Jetpack will be made irrelevant given the structure of the new SDK.
