No, this doesn't need to remain marked security-sensitive, but I don't know how to remove it.

Yes I have MS Work installed as part of package installed from Microsoft Office Pro. version 2000-sr2. In regards to security status. I do not know how to change the status. Also I don't think it a security-sensitive problem. Also could this be some kind of virus ?

(In reply to comment #6) > Also could this be some kind of virus ? Don't think so but it's like your launching the word install . so maybe something is tricking your system into launching an exe file. Can you save one email behaving like that and use the add an attachment link on this page ?
I am very grateful to this community and I applaud your work. I am experiencing the same issue, as reported, under virtually the same circumstances. PLEASE NOTE: The inability to access e-mail message attachments IS NOT LIMITED to WORD document attachments. Adobe PDF file attachments, for example, are also inaccessible. This issue is new - it was not present in prior releases of this software, so far as I am aware and can determine. I consider this "bug" to be "serious" and not "normal" - it significantly impairs the utility and functionality of this product. Thank you for your kind attention and assistance.

Adobe PDF file attachments, for example, are This can be fixed with a delete of the mimetypes.rdf file in your profile - give that a try and things should get back to normal.

I have tried deleting the "mimetypes.rdf" files, but this has not changed the problem. We are waiting for approval from My wifes employer to forward a Email with one of their problem files. both word and pdf. Will be in touch. Les

I also seem to have a similar issue. I recently upgraded from TB2 to TB3.0.1 on XP SP3. Double clicking on a .pdf attachment used to open it quite fine in TB2. Now in TB3 I get a windows error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. ..." with the correct path to the pdf viewer in the error dialog title. Same happens for a .txt attachment, which used to opened with VIM. I also saw some references to this error in Google. I have no problem whatsoever to save the .pdf and just double click on it in explorer - it opens.

Ah, and I also tried creating a new profile. Created a message, saved it with a pdf attachment, opened again from the outbox, tried double clicking on the pdf attachment - got the same error.

Comment 0 is certainly not a TB bug -> invalid Otherwise, testcase was requested from reporter in Comment 1, reporter promised testcase in comment 12, but never delivered -> incomplete Comment 13 is about pdf (while this is about word), we have some bugs on that, otherwise it needs a new bug with a testcase msg. I don't think this is going anywhere, and we'd need fresh reports for recent versions anyway, including testcase messages. Feel free to reopen if you have a testcase to offer.
